Nutty Neon November ^_^!! Happy Holidays!!

It that time again and I hope all are doing well!! It is a bit late because it took me a bit with many things going on in life but all is good now. I wish to say a few things before we reveal the Artists of the Month:

~I have noticed many new and colorful artists and those are great but I have also noticed an increase again in the number of barely qualifying to get into group pieces. I hate to go on a rule lecture but I feel it is time for a large scale review.

The requirements are very simple>>>>>Colorful(70% of piece HAS to be a 3+ colors and there cannot be more than 30% white background on any piece). Black and white IS allowed BUT in good taste and not often. Linearts, detailed uncolored pieces, mostly black and white pieces with color accents, etc can go there but this is a COLORFUL group and though we appear to not be extremely active I manage the folders with the Contributors and I see more submissions meeting the black and white or non colorful rule quite frequently. I am always watching.

The second requirement for art in this group is it has to be Creative and this one is most often met and is the easiest to meet so long as copyright rules on DA are followed. I am no judge of what is or isn't creative but if it looks like it is copying something or someone else beyond realm of fanart it will be investigated(FYI this has not been an issue here). The most common infringement would be to not acknowledge the line artist when you post a colored lineart but in my time in this group all do.

The third requirement is Completeness. THIS is an issue. Some pieces are sketches or appear(key word APPEAR) unfinished with such things as background undone or monotone. Sometimes that is fine but completeness is indicative of our not accepting sketches, WIPs(except linearts or uncolored black and whites of a later colored piece), etc that pertain to incomplete pieces. it is not that we don't appreciate the process, it is that our group is more of a finished product group. There are many great groups for the other types out there.

ALSO:: We do NOT accept literature, poetry, personal advertisements, adoptables, journal entries(unless relevant to color and plz note me about those; if submitted to folder they will be removed) or any discriminatory content. I want this group to be good for all.

This is a group for colorful, complete, and creative works and 85-90% of them fall into this very easily but about 10-15% lately have been very much not this. This percentage is based off a 6 month spreadsheet count. I have let some at 3 colors which is bare minimum get in but please lets improve this. I hope this helps clarify the rules some for those who may have never known and I hope it encourages an improvement in the quality and consistency of our submissions. For those who are following these rules and surpassing them GREAT WORK and keep it up.
